Two Arrested After False Robbery Reported

East Texas authorities were called to a robbery report in the 1000 block of Texas Boulevard. The alleged victim, 42-year-old Shane Elliot of Dekalb, reported that he'd been robbed at gunpoint. After an investigation, detectives found out Elliot had, in fact, fabricated the story to cover up a possible prostitution act. The other person involved was identified as 41-year-old Demetria Newton of Texarkana. She was detained and later arrested for failure to identify and possessing a controlled substance. Elliot was arrested for filing a false report.
