Train Derailment Causes Problems South of Shreveport
SHREVEPORT, LA - A train derailment in south Caddo Parish has caused some problems in the Keithville area.
Caddo Parish patrol deputies have been on the scene helping with a train derailment on the south end of the parish.
Just before 5pm Caddo deputies were called out to the Union Pacific derailment on Old Mansfield Road in Keithville, LA.
Caddo Fire District 4 was already on the scene and confirmed there were no injuries or hazardous materials released from the derailment.
Old Mansfield Road was shut down from Mansfield Road to Keithville/Springridge Road including the intersection of Old Mansfield Road and Oak Hollow Drive.
Officials say there are 156 box cars on the track and nine of those cars derailed. No vehicles impacted.
Some power lines in the area were knocked down.
