One man surrenders to police in connection the beating of tourists in the French Quarter. 21-year-old Dejuan Paul turned himself in. Police say Paul is the one seen in the video hitting of the victim in the back of the head, knocking him to the ground.

Police in New Orleans are searching for other suspects who beat the tourists in the French Quarter. The shocking video has gone viral and has been seen around the world.

New Orleans Police released the video hoping someone would recognize the thugs who assaulted and robbed these two pedestrians.

The beating happened Saturday night at 11pm. The video shows two men walking down the sidewalk when two other men attack them from behind.

Two passersby showed up and the thieves ran away. One of the victims was left unconscious and remains in critical condition. The thieves stole the wallets and cell phones from both victims.

Mayor Mitch Landrieu must take these kinds of brutal crimes seriously. New Orleans is one of the most violent cities in the nation and this is a giant black eye for one of the jewels of our state. The French Quarter attracts millions of visitors each month and this kind of heinous crime will most certainly have an impact on tourism.

Last year, 10.4 million people visited New Orleans and spend nearly 7 and a have billion dollars.
