Even Shreveport is Less Dangerous Than These 10 Louisiana Towns
When I moved to Louisiana 5 years ago, I was surprised at just how nice everyone was. The food here is delicious, the scenery is spectacular - how could a place this perfect have existed all of these years right under my nose? The truth is: Louisiana isn't perfect. Over the course of half a decade, I have come to understand that Shreveport can be a dangerous town. It might surprise you to know, however, that the Ratchet City didn't make the FBI's list of the 10 most dangerous towns in Louisiana.
The FBI Watches to See Just Which Towns are the Most Dangerous
You see, the Federal Bureau of Investigation keeps track of just which places are the most dangerous and why in the U.S.. By collecting, analyzing, and reporting this data to the proper authorities - the hope is that a plan to make these troublesome towns safer for residents can be made. Roadsnacks.net broke down the FBI's data even further to identify just which cities in our state were the most dangerous.
According to the FBI, the Biggest Cities in Louisiana Aren't Necessarily the Most Dangerous
While you might think that the biggest cities would be the most dangerous by default, that's not exactly the case. Since the level of danger in any given city is based on how likely a crime is to impact a resident (basically a "per capita" type of measurement) - size doesn't matter. Because of that fact, there are a few surprising smaller Louisiana towns that have made this list. In fact, I was shocked to see that Shreveport didn't make this list! After reading the news here every day, I could hardly believe it!
Without further ado, here are the top 10 most dangerous towns in Louisiana based on the latest FBI crime statistics - be careful!
