Are you an Oscar Mayer wiener? You'll be excited to know that the Wienermobile makes several stops in Shreveport this week. Holly Nelson and Jess Grillin' are "Hotdoggers" and they're driving the 27-foot-long hot dog-shaped vehicle all across the region, spending three of the next four days at Walmart stores here in our area.

Tomorrow, the Wienermobile visits the Shreveport-Barksdale Highway store from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Then from 2-5 p.m., it stops at the E. Bert Kouns Walmart. Friday, it's the Mansfield Road store from 10 a.m. til 1 p.m., and the Westport Avenue location from 2 to 5. Saturday, it heads over to Henderson, Texas, for the Syrup Festival from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., then pays the Airline Drive Walmart in Bossier City a visit Sunday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

While it's in town, Hotdoggers will play games with families in front of the Wienermobile, handing out coupons and iconic Wiener Whistles.

If you're wondering how these "Hotdoggers" are chosen, Oscar Mayer recruits at college campuses across the U.S. The company looks for soon-to-be collage grads who have a thirst for adventure and can truly "cut the mustard." Each team of two is assigned one of six regions to travel. After six months on the job, they all get new partners and new regions.
