National Restaurant Chain Closes Several Locations in Texas
SHREVEPORT, LA – A national restaurant chain is closing dozens of restaurants around the country including four in Texas. TGI Fridays is shutting down 36 locations they claim are “underperforming.”
TGI Fridays has often been called "the world's first casual bar and grill.'
Locations in 12 states are on the list of closings. New Jersey is getting hit the hardest where 7 restaurants are closing. 6 have closed in Massachusetts and 5 in New York. Texas is next on the list with 4 on the chopping block. 2 locations are also closing in Florida.
There are no Louisiana locations on the closing list.
TGI Fridays issues a release saying this is part of the company’s "ongoing growth strategy."
As part of the changes, TGI Fridays is offering more than 1,000 transfer opportunities, which the business said represents more than 80% of its impacted employees.
TGI Fridays had more than 270 locations around the globe.
What Texas Locations Are Closing?
- Corpus Christi: 5217 S. Padre Island Dr.
- Houston/Almeda: 12895 Gulf Fwy.
- North Arlington: 1524 N. Collins St.
- The Woodlands: 1105 Lake Woodlands Dr.
TGI Fridays only has one location left in Louisiana. It is in Harvey.
