Prosecutors say a Shreveport man will plead guilty as charged to aggravated battery and hate crimes Thursday in Caddo Parish District Court for a January, 2011 attack on another individual at a night club in the 400 block of Spring St.
An out-of-control wildfire in the heart of town kept multiple fire agencies busy into late last evening. Shreveport Firefighters, with the help of at least five Caddo Fire Districts spent much of yesterday battling a wildfire that threatened homes and businesses in south-central Shreveport.

Eric Dale Mickelson (d.o.b. 3-3-69) is due in court at 9:30 a.m. for sentencing on his conviction of first degree murder in the slaying of Charles Martin. Mickelson was found guilty of first degree murder by a Caddo Parish jury on Aug. 3.
An unarmed operational test of a Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile is scheduled to launch between 3:01 and 9:01 a.m. July 27 from Vandenberg AFB, Calif.
The missile's single unarmed re-entry vehicle is expected to travel approximately 4,200 miles southwest to the Kwajalein Atoll.
