A Shreveport man who terrorized a local hospital one year ago pleaded guilty in Caddo District Court and was sentenced to the maximum prison term allowed by law.
The streets of Paris were the site of violence Thursday night, when a gunman opened fire on a parked police van, killing one officer and wounding two more.

A man drove from Long Island, New York, into Lower Manhattan earlier today in a van he thought was filled with explosives. He parked the van close to the Federal Reserve building, just a few blocks from the World Trade Center, and planned to detonate it using a cell phone from a nearby hotel.
The explosives, however, were fake.
