A Shreveport woman killed when her vehicle was struck by a train Monday, November 20, 2023, has been named by the Caddo Parish Coroner's office.

A Shreveport woman in a car that tried to beat a train across some railroad tracks in Shreveport yesterday afternoon has died from her injuries.

It was a close call for a local woman.  A witness tells Bossier City police that a Kia Optima was speeding westbound in the 3600 block of Industrial Drive, when it left the roadway in a curve just before the railroad crossing.  The car drove through a ditch, then up onto the railroad tracks and stopped.
