With summer right around the corner, lots of area folks might be thinking about heading out on the water. So this is the perfect time to get familiar with Louisiana's boating safety laws. That's the purpose behind a Boating Safety Class being held this weekend.
Wildlife and Fisheries Agents will be out in force this weekend looking for intoxicated boaters. They call it Operation Dry Water and they've been doing this since 2009.
Parish park officials say boaters should exercise more caution when driving through Caddo Lake because of low water levels. To warn boaters, the Parks Department placed caution signs at the lake this week. District 1 Commissioner Doug Dominick says when the lake level is low, stumps and other obstacles are closer to the surface -- and could cause a serious accident or cause water craft damage...
