Bossier City Police have arrested the driver of an SUV that crashed into a house early this morning, injuring a man who was sleeping inside the house.

Police say 25-year-old Florencio Alvarez-Torres was driving west in the 3100 block of Shed Road about 2 o'clock this morning when his SUV left the road and drove through a carport before it crashed into the house.  A man who was sleeping in a bed inside that house was hurt and was taken to the VA Hospital in Shreveport.  His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.  Alvarez-Torres was injured, too, but police say he ran from the scene before they got there.  They were able to track him down in the Parkland Villa Apartments nearby where he was taken into custody and transported to Willis Knighton-Bossier for treatment of his injuries.  He was booked into the Bossier City Jail after his release from the hospital this morning on charges of felony hit and run and no driver's license.  Police say he may also face a DWI charge, depending on the outcome of a blood-alcohol test.
