On March 5th, 2023, Shreveport Police Department Patrol officers were contacted in reference to a report of a Hit and Run involving a vehicle striking a pedestrian in the 1300 block of Youree Drive. On arrival, officers contacted Braylon Franklin, who appeared to have been struck by a vehicle. Franklin was suffering from injuries consistent with that of being struck by a vehicle and gave a statement that a vehicle had struck him and driven away.

Further investigation by Shreveport Police Patrol officers revealed that there was much more to the story. Officers were able to learn that Braylon Franklin was reportedly involved in a domestic incident in which he was observed choking and punching a woman on top of the woman’s vehicle. Franklin also broke the female’s cell phone. The woman was able to get out of Franklin’s grasp and into the vehicle. She then sped away in the vehicle as Franklin was reported attempting to pull her from the vehicle.

This, in turn, caused the injuries that Braylon Franklin reported to officers. Franklin was transported to a local area hospital for treatment for injuries sustained during the incident. Braylon Franklin (12-1-90) was then arrested for one count of Domestic Abuse Battery with Strangulation and an outstanding contempt of court warrant.
