Suspect In Shreveport Triple Homicide Has Been Fatally Shot By Police
A source with Shreveport Police has confirmed that the suspect wanted in connection to a triple homicide in Shreveport has been shot and killed by police in Franklin Parish.
Shreveport Police Detectives say that Barry Rigsby is the man responsible for three overnight murders in the 400 block of West 82nd Street in Shreveport. The three victims included two adults and a 12-year-old.
The call came in just before 2AM on November 4th, after a woman called police saying she had found the bodies inside a home. The woman was reportedly a family member of the victims, and found their bodies while checking on her son.
Rigsby was named as a suspect almost immediately, and warrants were issued for three counts of Second Degree Murder. His bond was set at $3,000.000. After the warrants were issued, police discovered the vehicle they believed Rigsby escaped in abandoned in Franklin Parish.
Louisiana State Police say that Rigsby was shot and killed by officers around 2:30pm in Franklin Parish.
A statewide manhunt had been initiated for Rigsby for most of the day. Though the majority of the search had been taking place in Franklin Parish, about 150 miles from the murder scene. Authorities have not announced where they located Rigsby, prior to the shots being fired.
