Supporting Local Music On A Budget

As a local musician, I know better than anyone that sometimes going out and seeing a local band or artist can hit your billfold pretty hard. But, if you follow some simple rules, you can go out and enjoy the local music scene even if you're having a bit of a struggle month!

Be sure to like and follow ALL of the local bars and venues on social media. This will let you know of any upcoming events that you may be interested in.

Look for events posted that advertise "NO COVER" and "DRINK SPECIALS". This way you know you won't have to spend money at the door, and you have some affordable drink options.

Even if you don't buy a drink or pay cover PLEASE still drop a tip in the tip jar or buy a sticker for a few bucks. We are still trying to support local music after all.

There are also many events in the area that have a low door cover for the evening but have several bands playing in one night. Want to hear some new music AND see your favorite local group? These shows knock out all of that at once and you only have to pay one cover!

These are just a few things you can do, but it all starts with liking your local bars, venues, and bands on social media and keeping an eye out!
