Louisiana State Police Investigating Shreveport Traffic Stop
SHREVEPORT, LA - State Police are now investigating an incident involving Shreveport police officers.
Shreveport police officers pulled a driver over Wednesday night in the Mooretown neighborhood just after 7pm. The officers tried to pull the car over near the intersection of Hollywood and Broadway. The driver eventually stopped on Hollywood at McAlphine.
The officers were trying to arrest the subject, but things escalated and the suspect reportedly began fighting with police.
The suspect was rushed to a local hospital with serious injuries. On Thursday, a day after the incident, Shreveport police called on State Police to step in an investigate this case.
Were Officers Hurt During this Stop?
No Officers were hurt during this traffic stop. State Police say this investigation remains active and ongoing. Through coordination with the Caddo Parish District Attorney’s Office and LSP Investigators, additional information will be provided once it becomes available.
