Special Fundraiser Saturday For Local Woman With Rare Disease
Sandy Miner is a lifelong resident of the North Shreveport/Blanchard area. She's one of those people that you immediately love just after meeting her, and right now she needs our help.
Sandy was recently diagnosed with the rare disease, Chiari Malformation, and it's taken so much from her. Not only has she endured two painful brain surgeries over the last three weeks in Baton Rouge, she's dealing with a tremendous emotional struggle, and, as you can imagine, this is financially draining Sandy and her husband, Don.
Because of these conditions, the Community Group from Covenant Church will host a fundraiser for Sandy this Saturday, October 10, from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm at the softball field across from First Baptist Blanchard in downtown Blanchard, La.
Funds raised will help Sandy and Don with traveling expenses, medical bills, hotel stay for Don and food expenses. The event will feature pulled pork sandwich plates for only $8.50. There will be a free jump house for kids, an awesome raffle, and organizers will be selling t-shirts.
Raffle tickets will sell for $2.00 and will include several items including Advocare gift certificates, pedicures, photography gift certificates, two games of golf, Mary Kay baskets and lots more!
This promises to be a great time for our community to come together and show support!
