Man Falls to His Death: Skydiving Accident in Caddo Parish

The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office reports that a man has been found dead in rural Caddo Parish at the tragic end of a search for a missing person. The victim was reported missing around 1:30pm on Saturday, November 16, 2024; he had last been seen skydiving around the Gilliam Airport.

A large scale search surrounding the intended skydiving landing area was launched. Search parties were looking for an Asian male wearing an orange wingsuit. The Caddo Sheriff's Office was assisted by air rescue teams, Caddo Fire, and the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries. Just after 3pm, search teams located the body of the missing skydiver a few miles away from the landing zone designated for skydivers.

KTBS reports that Caddo Deputies had been told by witnesses that the victim's parachute failed to deploy during his decent.

There has now been an investigation launched into this tragic incident.
