
Shreveport’s American Rose Center Hosting Easter Egg Hunt
The American Rose Center will host an Easter event for families on Sat., April 1, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at 8877 Jefferson Paige Road. The rain date is Sun., April 2, from 2 p.m. - 5 p.m.

Gates will open at 10 a.m., and the cost is $10 per person or $25 per carload.
The day will feature Easter-themed games with prizes for small children, new games and relays for older children (cornhole, egg in spoon races), and face painting. Children can plant a sunflower to take home, participate in a nature scavenger hunt, and create art on the sidewalks. There will also be additional activities and information for guests.
Prizes will be awarded to the children finding the Silver and Gold eggs in each age category. There will be 10,000 eggs hidden in the four age categories.
Age Specific Hunt Schedule
• Ages 1-2, 11 a.m.
• Ages 3-4, 11:30 a.m.
• Ladybug Release 12 noon
• Ages 5-7, 1 p.m.
• Ages 8-10, 1:30 p.m.
• Festival ends at 2 p.m.
• Park open until 5 p.m.
Ladybug Release
Another really cool activity taking place will be the lady bug release. Children will be invited to help release 27,000 environmentally-friendly ladybugs into the gardens to help protect our roses from harmful insects.
Photos with the Easter Bunny will be available for $10 each, rides on the Roseland Express will be $5, and roasted marshmallows will be $2.Concessions will be available for purchase on the grounds from LJ Catering offering hot dogs, corn dogs, and funnel cakes. The American Rose Center appreciates its partners: Learning RX, Sci-Port Discovery Center, and the Town of Greenwood.
