Shreveport Singer Needs Your Vote to Stay on ‘The Voice’
Shreveport's own Jershika Maple pulled out all the stops in her performance on the NBC show 'The Voice' on Monday night. She performed Elton John's "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me" during the performances of the final 8.

Who Is Jershika Maple?
Her hometown is Shreveport. She currently lives in Killeen, Texas. NBC's The Voice says She grew up singing in church, but her dad was in the military so her family was constantly on the move. As she hit the teenage years, her family settled down and she was able to concentrate on her music. She joined choirs all around the region and developed lots of friends in music. She's been working as a security guard until she made it onto the show. She does singing gigs at night and on the weekends. She is popular in the local gospel community, but she would love to pursue music as her full time passion.

"The Voice" is a 4-time Emmy-winning musical competition series which features professional coaches Ariana Grande, Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, and Blake Shelton. This is season 21 of the show. Maple was in the bottom 3 last week, but was saved by voters. She is urging folks to vote for her so she can make it to the finals which will feature the top 5. 3 of the contestants will get the boot tonight.
