Shreveport/Bossier Had it’s Own Trivia Board Game in the 80s
Finding old things is always an adventure, especially when it's local. This Shreveport Bossier Trivia board-game is a real treasure, filled with some amazing trivia questions from the past.
The game was made in 1986 with the help of KEEL to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Shreveport's founding. The Shreveport Sesquicentennial Commission used local businesses and researchers from the Shreve Memorial Library to make the board and research the questions. On the board, you can see many businesses that were prominent in Shreveport/Bossier in the 80s-90s, many of these sponsors no longer exist.
According to the sheet covering the rules, the game works very similarly to Trivial Pursuit. You roll for moves, and when you land on a specific color on the board, you must answer the category that the color corresponds with.
Some of the questions on the game cards are no-doubt advanced. There are several questions that would make even the most seasoned history-buff stutter a guess. However hard some of these questions may be, it's a fun way to learn the history of the Shreveport/Bossier area.
Shreveport/Bossier is rich with history, and some of it's best moments have been painstakingly researched by Shreveport Librarians to make it in to this interesting board-game. No doubt, many people had this in their home and played on family game nights.
