This Halloween, zombies take over downtown Shreveport.

The Shreveport Zombie Walk will be part of Boo Under the Bridge in the Red River District Saturday, October 31.

Boo starts at 2 p.m. with games, bounce houses, spooky music and trick-or-treating for the kids. It's free and open to everyone.

The Zombie Walk kicks off at 4 p.m., with zombies of all ages and 'levels of decomposition.' Downtown Development Authority Executive Director Liz Swaine said there will be some gruesome, but fun, contests to go along with it.

"We will have a Brain-eating Contest. We will have a Zombie Shamble Contest," she said. "Best Zombie, Scariest Zombie, Crummiest Zombie, I don't know, we'll come up with all kind of fun things. And then, we will have 'The Walk.'"

If you're a casino visitor, don't be alarmed...the zombie mob might make an appearance there, as well.

"We're going to walk them through the public areas of the casinos," Swaine said. "Can you just imagine how freaked out people are going to be when they see 100 zombies coming down the escalator at Eldorado. It makes me laugh out loud, it's going to be so much fun."

If you don't know the proper techniques to create your zombie look, professionals will be at the event to help you out with that. You can also find vendors selling everything from scary books to Zombie Repellant soaps to skull-themed jewelry.

Swaine said the only admission cost for the walk is a non-perishable food donation for the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana.
