SHREVEPORT, LA - Kids are out of school for the year around Shreveport. Parents might be looking for some great family outings as we move into the hot summer months. Most youngsters love to go swimming and enjoy fun times in the water.

Locally, we have several spray parks and community pools that are available for the young and old. But if you want a little more than just a pool or a spray park, there are several great options for big, bold water fun around the region.

One Water Park Is Still Open in Shreveport

You might remember it as Water Town or Splash Kingdom. It's in west Shreveport, but it is under new ownership and has a new name this year. It's called Wonder Oasis Water Park

The local park has gotten a facelift and it's ready to go for the 2025 season.

But if you love water parks, you might want to check out some of the others that are within just a few hours drive of Shreveport-Bossier. Of course the Dallas Metro has several great water parks. But they are usually very crowded and packed with people.

We checked out the parks in the local area that are still big, but they are also small enough to ensure you'll be able to keep track of your youngsters while enjoying a day in the sun and the water.

If you plan to be a water park customer more than once this summer, you really should check out the season passes. This is usually the most economical way to enjoy the fun of a great water park.
