Shreveport's Chief Technology Officer Keith Hanson talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about the state of the city's digital security.

Hanson tells KEEL listeners that with the spate of municipalities across the country being victims of ransomware, computer security is a constant concern. "Don't get me wrong," Hanson says, "This is the stuff that keeps me up at night. It's every IT directors nightmare. But we do have precautions in place, things that will 'roadblock' all of that."

Hanson adds that he "needs to be purposely vague about a lot of things. I don't need anyone knowing exactly what version of everything we have."

Hanson says that the city has "any number of backups in multiple locations, so if hackers were to target one spot, we don't have to worry."
