Shreveport Police Seeking Suspect in 2024 Shooting

On January 23, 2025, Shreveport Police secured an arrest warrant for Jakyvia Darnell on a single count of Attempted Second-Degree Murder.

This warrant stems from a shooting that occurred on December 23, 2024, just after 5:00 PM, in the 500 block of East Stoner Avenue. Officers responded to calls of shots fired and discovered a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the lower body. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives from the Shreveport Police Department responded to the scene and initiated an investigation. They learned that the victim had just arrived at the apartment complex and was exiting his vehicle when he was struck by gunfire.

Using surveillance footage obtained from the Real-Time Crime Center, detectives identified Jakyvia Darnell as a suspect in the case. A warrant has been issued for her arrest, and the Shreveport Police Department is now asking for the public’s assistance in locating her.
