ArtBreak: Shining a Light on Creativity of Young People

This is one of the biggest arts festivals in the state. It’s held at the Shreveport Convention Center from April 24-26. This event is produced by the Shreveport Regional Arts Council and includes more than 100 hands-on "make-and-take" workshops. It also includes performances by young people on multiple stages.

Family Fun for the Kids

Sci-Port Discovery Center is hosting the Bug Bazaar on April 11. It features interactive insect exhibits and a special appearance by Coyote Peterson.

Food Festivals in Shreveport Area for Spring

There is no better time for food festivals. We will celebrate all kinds of great eats this spring. Get ready to celebrate all things mudbugs with the Crawfish Kickoff Festival on Sunday April 19 from 2-8pm at Festival Plaza.

Taco Wars will draw a huge crowd to the Municipal Auditorium grounds on Saturday May 2 from 11am-8pm. Grab some of the best tacos you will ever try at this big festival. The winner of this festival will get the coveted “Golden Taco” trophy.

On May 10, plan a trip to Festival Plaza for the Shreveport Stuffed Shrimp Festival. We will celebrate this delicious food event featuring jumbo shrimp and so much more including great music and historical exhibits.
