
Get Ready for Spring! Join the Rose Pruning Seminar in Shreveport
SHREVEPORT, LA – It’s time to get the rose bushes at the American Rose Center in Shreveport in good shape for the spring.

You are invited to the Green Thumb Educational Seminar. It’s happening on Saturday February 22 at the gardens on Jefferson Paige Road.
What You Will Learn During Rose Seminar?
You will get hands-on instruction about the proper technique for pruning roses to make sure you get a beautiful spring bloom. You will be shown all the proper pruning methods.

What You Need to Bring to Pruning Seminar?
You are encouraged to show up with your pruning tools and gloves. I would also suggest long sleeve shirts for this task.
Guests will go out into the gardens and work on pruning the rose bushes. You will have specialists available throughout the gardens if you need help or have questions.
Registration is not necessary, but helpful to plan for lunch. You can send an email to eventcoordinator@rose.org to let them know you are coming. You could also call 318-938-5402 to pre-register.

Date: Saturday, February 22
Place: Klima Rose Hall, The American Rose Center, 8877 Jefferson Paige Road
Time: 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Cost: $10 lunch is provided
Saturday Schedule:
Welcome 9:00-9:30 a.m. Connie Reeve, Shreveport-Bossier Rose Society will demonstrate the art of pruning rose bushes.
9:30 a.m. - Noon: You will go out into the gardens for hands-on pruning demonstrations.
Lunch is at noon
From 1pm until you will go out in the gardens and continue pruning the thousands of rose bushes at this beautiful garden.
The American Rose Garden is home to the American Rose Society and features more than 7,000 rose bushes.
