Shreveport Restaurant and Bar Burns to the Ground
Several units of the Shreveport Fire Department have been on the scene of a business fire on Shreveport Barksdale Highway throughout the night. The call came in just after 1am at the Hookah District Restaurant and Lounge in the 1300 block of Shreveport Barksdale Highway.
Fire Chief Clarence Reese Jr. tells KEEL News Shreveport City Councilman Alan Jackson is part owner of this business and he was contacted the chief early this morning.
Fire crews battled this blaze for several hours. One firefighter was slightly hurt, but he is going to be ok.
The Signal 51 Group posted this message early today:
"A mayday was called and a firefighter was pulled from the building. This is now a defensive fire attack and all firefighters are outside of the structure. Truck 7 has setup their aerial ladder to help fight the fire."
KEEL News responded to the scene and firefighters at the location tell us the injured firefighter was overcome by the heat and the smoke, but did not require transport to a local hospital. No one else was hurt. The business was totally destroyed.
