Shreveport Police Take More Illegally-Owned Guns off the Streets
Shreveport Police officers take more illegally owned guns off the street.
On March 11th, 2023, around 12:30 a.m. Shreveport Police Community Response Units conducted a traffic stop in the 4900 block of Jewella Avenue while conducting patrols in the area to deter violent crime.
During the traffic stop by members of the Shreveport Police CRU team, Isaiah Baker (7/7/97) and Adam Mitchell (5/4/94) were found to be in possession of Firearms and Narcotics. Further investigation determined that both Mitchell and Baker were prohibited from owning a firearm due to having convictions for violent felony offenses and narcotics convictions.
A handgun and a semi-automatic rifle were seized by the officers and both Mitchell and Baker were arrested for one count of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and possession of a schedule one narcotic with intent to distribute.
We are required to advise that all suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
