SHREVEPORT, LA-   Police investigate weekend homicide

Shreveport police are investigating a Friday night shooting that left one man dead in the Eden Gardens neighborhood in east Shreveport.

On June 28, 2024, just before midnight, Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to reports of a shooting at a home in the 7200 block of Bethany Street. Arriving officers located 46-year-old Jacoby Willis in the driveway of the residence. He was suffering from multiple gunshot injuries to the upper body and was transported to a local hospital where he later died.

Patrol officers secured the crime scene and investigators with the Violent Crimes and Crime Scene Units responded to interview witnesses and collect all items of evidentiary value. Witnesses reported that they heard gunshots and observed at least two individuals fleeing from the scene. No further information is available at this time.

The investigation is ongoing, and detectives are asking anyone with information relative to this crime to contact them at 318-673-7300 #3. Crimestoppers will pay a minimum of $2,000.00 for information leading to the identification and arrest of those responsible for this homicide.
