
Shreveport Police Officer Arrested for Domestic Abuse Battery

SPD Officer Arrested in Domestic Incident
The Shreveport Police Department has arrested off-duty officer Marcellas Anderson following an incident that occurred on October 15, 2024. Shreveport Police responded to a welfare concern in the 3300 block of Mesa Drive, which ultimately led to the arrest of Anderson for two counts of domestic abuse battery with child endangerment.
Officer Anderson, who has been employed with the Shreveport Police Department since February 2023, has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
Chief Wayne Smith expressed his feelings over the incident, stating, “I am deeply saddened by the events that have unfolded. We will ensure a full and transparent investigation into this matter.” Chief Smith emphasized that while this incident is unfortunate, the Shreveport Police Department is committed to conducting a thorough and fair investigation.
The victim in this case is expected to recover.
