Shreveport Police Make Arrest in Armed Robbery Case
SHREVEPORT, LA- Shreveport police make an arrest in an armed robbery incident
On August 6th, 2023, around 9:30 p.m. Shreveport Police Officers and Detectives with the Shreveport Police Violent Crimes Unit responded to 3620 Pines Road in reference to an armed robbery.
Detectives determined employees of the store were taking the cash from the Brookshires Gas Station into the main store when they were confronted by a suspect, who took an undisclosed amount of money at gunpoint.
Alert officers in the area observed a male matching the description of the suspect in the 6400 block of Joy Drive. The suspect was detained and later identified as Dequanis Williams (7-4-01). Officers were able to locate the weapon used in the robbery and determine that Williams was in fact responsible for the robbery.
Williams was transported to the city jail and charged with one count of armed robbery
