The Shreveport Police Department's Street-Level Interdiction Unit has successfully arrested two individuals in connection with gun-related offenses. This follows an in-depth investigation that led officers to a residence on the 9400 block of Boxwood Drive.

- One count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon

- One count of distribution of narcotics

- One count of illegal carrying of a weapon

- One count of possessing and handling a machine gun

During the operation, officers seized multiple firearms and quantities of narcotics from the residence. One of the firearms was illegally altered to fire as a fully automatic weapon.

Chief Wayne Smith and the Shreveport Police Department remain committed to removing firearms from individuals who are prohibited from possessing them and continue to work tirelessly to apprehend those in possession of illegal firearms.

Suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
