The Shreveport Police Department is ramping up its aggressive enforcement of firearm laws, resulting in multiple arrests and the removal of illegal weapons from the streets.

According to police officials, all of the recent arrests stemmed from proactive, self-initiated patrols rather than responses to emergency calls. Chief Wayne Smith commended the officers involved for identifying suspicious activity and taking enforcement action before violence could occur.
