[UPDATE] All Clear at Shreveport Women’s Clinic After Bomb Scare
[UPDATE 5:23 p.m.] 710 KEEL News has learned that the Shreveport bomb unit has given the all clear and packed up following a bomb scare that caused the evacuation of Hope Medical Group For Women.
According to KTBS, a 17-year-old Airline student was detained after leaving the backpack, which was found to contain anti-abortion pamphlets and dolls.
[ORIGINAL STORY] Shreveport police and Fire Department bomb squad quickly arrived on the scene at a women's clinic on Centenary Blvd after a backpack that looked suspicious was found on the property.
A bomb squad robot will be used to ensure the suspicious backpack isn't dangerous. If it is, the robot will disable it.
As a result of the bomb scare, Shreveport Police have shut down on Kings Highway between Gilbert and Alexander Avenue.
