Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest of Leon Williams

Just after 1:00 a.m., Shreveport officers initiated a traffic stop on Leon Williams. During the stop, police discovered that Williams was driving with a suspended license and had several outstanding warrants. A subsequent search revealed that Williams was in possession of both a firearm and narcotics.

As a convicted felon with a history of domestic violence, Williams is legally barred from owning a firearm. He was booked on charges of:

  • Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
  • Illegal carrying of a weapon with a controlled dangerous substance
  • Multiple traffic violations.

Dmarque Oliver Apprehended for Weapons and Probation Violations

The enforcement continued into the afternoon when, shortly after 3:00 p.m., officers arrested Dmarque Oliver. Oliver was found in possession of a firearm despite a criminal record involving prior narcotics and weapons-related convictions. In addition to the new weapons charge, Oliver was taken into custody for an active probation violation.

Devarea Mester McDaniel Faces New Narcotics and Weapon Charges

At approximately 6:00 p.m., a traffic stop conducted by SPD officers led to the arrest of Devarea Mester McDaniel. After identifying that McDaniel had multiple outstanding warrants, a search of his person and vehicle yielded a firearm and narcotics.

Because of his prior history with weapons and drug convictions, McDaniel faces fresh charges for the illegal possession of both the firearm and the controlled substances.

Keunta Baylor Arrested Following Evening Contact

The final arrest of the day occurred just after 9:00 p.m. when officers made contact with Keunta Baylor. Upon investigation, Baylor was found to be armed with a handgun. Given Baylor’s prior conviction for robbery, he is legally prohibited from possessing any firearm. He was arrested on-site and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
