Shreveport Police Arrest Felon W/Firearm After High Speed Chase

On April 15th, 2023, around 9:25 p.m. officers conducted at traffic stop at Curtis Lane and Lakeshore Drive. The driver of the vehicle refused to stop and led officers on a chase that ended at Milam Street when the vehicle struck a tree. The driver was taken into custody and identified as Kelvin Ragster (5-4-84).

Ragster was reportedly found to be in possession of a firearm. Further investigation revealed that he is prohibited from possessing a firearm due to prior felony convictions.

At this time Ragster has been charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm and aggravated flight in a motor vehicle.

No injuries were reported.
