Shreveport Police Arrest Convicted Felon With Firearm and Narcotics
On March 19th, 2023, just after midnight, Shreveport Police Community Response Unit members responded to a suspicious activity call in the 3500 block of Dee Street. Responding officers arrived and conducted a traffic stop on the suspicious vehicle.
During the traffic stop, officers contacted Shayvon Haney (5/1/95). Officers found that Haney was in possession of a firearm and narcotics. Further investigation determined that Haney was prohibited from owning a firearm due to having convictions for prior violent Domestic Abuse felonies.
The firearm and narcotics were seized by the officers. Haney was arrested for one count of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, one count of possession of schedule two, one count of possession of a firearm with a controlled dangerous substance, and one count of possession of a schedule one narcotic with intent to distribute.
We are required to advise that all suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
