
Shreveport Police Arrest Convicted Felon with 2 Firearms

SHREVEPORT, LA- Shreveport police receive an armed person call that leads to an arrest of a felon with a firearm
On August 17th, 2023, around 7:32 p.m. Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to a call of an armed person in the 5100 block of Westwood Park Drive. Reportedly two suspects were in the area pointing firearms at people from a vehicle.
Upon arrival, officers located the suspect vehicle and one of the armed suspects.
Officers detained the man and found that the armed man was Clarence Ruffin (9-13-85). Officers seized two firearms from Ruffins’s possession.
Further investigation into the matter revealed that Ruffin was prohibited from possessing a firearm due to being a convicted felon for numerous felony offenses. Ruffin was arrested on one count of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and multiple outstanding warrants.
We are required to advise that all suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
