Shreveport Mudbugs Look To Bounce Back After Disappointing Weekend
With only 4 games left in the regular season, the Shreveport Mudbugs are looking to clinch the division and home ice advantage in the playoffs. And while the team is well on their way to a division title, all is not locked up with a pretty little bow.
The team could have locked up the division crown and home ice this weekend at George's Pond but were instead swept by the Corpus Christi IceRays.
Earlier in the season, the Bugs had a 20 point lead in the division. Now, the lead is down to just 9 points. They are also battling through a ton of injuries, with several star players sidelined.
But, now that we have all the negative out the way, lets look at some of the positives. The Bugs need just one point (a win or overtime loss) to clinch their first NAHL Division title and gain home ice advantage in the playoffs. And they have 4 chances to lock up the Southern Division crown.
The Mudbugs' next chance to hoist a championship banner and seal their playoff fate this weekend at George's Pond at Hirsch Coliseum. They'll be taking on the second place, and extremely hot, Lone Star Brahmas.
If you want to attend the game, you can purchase tickets online or at any local Brookshire's location.
