A Shreveport man is dead following a head-on collision in north Shreveport Saturday night.

The Caddo Parish Coroner's Office identifies the victim as 23-year-old Kendrick Dewayne Diggs of Shreveport. Police say he was driving his 2000 Acura TL south on Hilry Huckaby, when he lost control of the car, veered into the northbound lane and crashed into a 2012 Chevy Sonic driven by 26-year-old Stephen Brasher of Shreveport.

Diggs suffered traumatic head injuries and died on the way to University Health. He was identified through fingerprints by the Caddo Coroner's office and Shreveport Police.

Brasher suffered serious injuries in the crash. Police Corporal Breck Scott tells KEEL News both of Brasher's legs were broken. He's being treated at University Health.

Crash investigators say impairment on the part of both drivers is unknown, but routine toxicology samples have been sent in for analysis. Diggs will be autopsied by the LSU Med School Department of Pathology.

The accident remains under investigation.
