A 53-year-old Shreveport man will serve a long prison sentence after being convicted of child molestation.

According to the Caddo District Attorney's Office, following a week-long trial, the six-man, six-woman jury took only 15 minutes to convict Allen Roth, Jr., of molesting an underaged girl -- who was related by marriage -- numerous times between 2003 and 2010. The victim was unable to disclose the abuse until March 2014, when she was 17.

Caddo Sheriff's Deputies arrested Roth April 1, 2014, after a report was filed by the victim and her mother. During the Caddo District Court trial, the jury heard testimony from the girl's family, law enforcement, and the victim, who's now 19.

Roth will face up to 99 years in prison at hard labor, with at least 25 of those to be served without benefit of probation, parole or suspension. A sentencing date has not been set.
