Haughton Man Arrested for Multiple Counts of Molestation

Bossier Parish Sheriff's Office put a man behind bars for some disgusting crimes...

BPSO was investigating a man for complaints of inappropriate behavior with underage kids. While Deputies were investigating they found out that there were several victims involved going back 20 years.

Sheriff Whittington sent the message:

"Time will not shield those who commit such heinous acts. Our community stands strong in the fight against abuse and we will continue to protect the most vulnerable among us. It doesn't matter how long ago this happened. We will pursue  and prosecute guilty parties to the full extent of the law."

BPSO is urging anyone who has been impacted by the actions of 76 year-old Clarence Byrd to reach out to them or any appropriate authority.

This case is still being investigated.

Byrd has been charged with:

4 counts of first degree rape under the age of thirteen.

3 counts of molestation of a juvenile under the age of thirteen.

1 count of indecent behavior with a juvenile under the age of thirteen.
