SHREVEPORT, LA-  Shreveport Police Make Arrest in Overnight Homicide

Shreveport Police have made an arrest following last night’s homicide in north Shreveport.

On July 1, 2024, just after 9:45 p.m., Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to the 2100 block of Grimmett Drive on reports of a shooting. Arriving officers located a man suffering from multiple gunshot injures. He was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Officers secured the crime scene and summonsed Violent Crimes Investigators. Detectives launched an hours long investigation and were able to identify 39 year-old Jeremy Hill (9-21-1985) as the person they believed responsible for the murder. A warrant was procured charging Hill with one count of Second-Degree Murder. No bond was set.

Just after 4:00 p.m., Hill surrendered himself to investigators. He was booked into the Shreveport City Jail on his warrant.
