Shreveport Man Arrested as Convicted Felon Possessing a Firearm

SHREVEPORT, LA-  Shreveport Police arrest a convicted felon with a firearm

On October 25th, 2023, around 6:49 p.m. proactive Shreveport Police Community Response officers conducted a stop of a suspicious person walking in the roadway at Centenary Boulevard and Olive Street. At this time officers identified the man as Zamario Washington (11-6-91). Officers reported that Washington had illegally controlled dangerous substances, multiple knives, and a firearm in his possession.

Further investigation into the matter revealed that Washington was prohibited from possessing a firearm due to being a convicted felon for prior felony offenses. He was arrested on one count of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and one count of possession of Schedule two controlled dangerous substances. The firearms and narcotics were seized as evidence.

We are required to advise that all suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
