Shreveport Line Ave Market Closing- But Don’t Panic
The owners of Maxwell's Market on Line Avenue in Shreveport have made a couple of major announcements. According to a recent Facebook post, the current owners announced they are closing the doors on Friday, October 14th for remodeling, repairs, and maintenance.
But they also made another announcement. Notice I said "current owners." After the remodel, the store will reopen with new owners. Eric and Andrea Reuther will take over after the remodel. You might know them as the current owners of the new Bodacious Bar & Q, which is located further south down Line Avenue.
Maxwell's current owner says customers don't need to worry about finding their favorites, as they expect to continue to carry the same quality products, as well as developing new additions.
Maxwell's Market first opened in 1995 offering sandwiches and gourmet groceries. The grocery has become a staple for many at the Line Ave location being known for high-quality meats, seafood, soups, sandwiches and salads, along with unique grocery items you can't find anyplace else in town. And Maxwell's has become a game-day must-stop for many fans in Shreveport.
The current owner, also stated in his Facebook post that he will be staying on through December 24th to help with the transition. Maxwell's will close after business on Friday, October 14th to complete their remodeling and upgrades, and hope to open within a couple weeks.
