Shreveport Police Hunt for Caregiver Accused of Identity Theft
The Shreveport Police Department is turning to the public for help in tracking down a local woman accused of exploiting her position of trust to steal a client's identity.
An arrest warrant has been officially issued for Gabrielle Moore, who faces a charge of Identity Theft under Louisiana Revised Statute 14:67.16.

Fraudulent Utility Account Sparks Investigation
The investigation kicked off after a Shreveport resident discovered a utility account had been fraudulently opened in his name at an address where he had never lived. The victim only became aware of the fraud after receiving a notice demanding payment for a substantial outstanding utility balance.

Detectives quickly stepped in, discovering that the account had been established using the victim’s name, date of birth, and Social Security number.
Digital Trail Leads to Former Caregiver
As investigators dug deeper, they traced the digital footprint of the utility account—including the associated phone number, email address, and physical residence—directly back to Moore and individuals connected to her.
The breakthrough in the case came when detectives learned that Moore had previously worked as a caregiver, giving her direct access to the highly sensitive personal information of her clients. During a photo lineup conducted by police, the victim successfully identified Moore as his former caregiver.
Louisiana Revised Statute 14:67.16: Authorities developed solid evidence that Moore allegedly used the victim's information without authorization to secure utility services, leading to the formal criminal charge.

Identity theft carries devastating financial and personal consequences for victims, and the Shreveport Police Department emphasizes its commitment to holding these offenders accountable.
Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding Gabrielle Moore's whereabouts to take action:
- Shreveport Police Department: Call investigators directly with tips.
- Shreveport-Caddo Crime Stoppers: Submit an anonymous tip by calling (318) 673-7373.
