Shreveport Police in Early Stages of a Homicide Investigation
The Shreveport Police are working hard to collect evidence to solve the city's latest homicide.
Yesterday evening, Shreveport Police and Fire Department were called to the scene of a shooting on West 73rd Street. When first responders arrived on the scene, they found a 19 year-old man on the front porch of the home with a gunshot wound to his upper-body.
Shreveport Fire Department paramedics rendered aid on the scene before transporting him to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries. Despite efforts from paramedics and ER staff, the young man was pronounced dead a short time after arriving at the hospital.
The Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office was notified, and additional Shreveport Police Violent Crimes investigators and Crime Scene Investigators were requested. Detectives on the case learned that several people were inside of the home at the time of the shooting.
Witnesses were taken to SPD's Violent Crimes Office to be interviewed, and the scene was documented and processed.
Shreveport Police are urging anyone with information about this shooting to come forward to help bring the shooter(s) to justice.
