Shreveport Police Arrest Two in Separate Gun Busts
Over the weekend Shreveport Police were able to arrest 2 people for illegally having guns.
SPD got a call to Sussex Avenue to reports of an armed person. When Police showed up a woman told them that her boyfriend, Vermont Powell had pulled a gun on her and threatened her. Powell is a convicted felon and is not allowed to have guns. After a short search and investigation Powell was arrested.
Later that same evening, SPD made a traffic stop. While Police were working on the stop, they found out that Avionest Fuller didn't have registration or insurance on the car. A search of the car also turned up with a gun. Fuller is a convicted felon and is not suppose to have guns. Fuller has had multiple felonies throughout the years, including a 2004 homicide.
