SHREVEPORT, LA – Several Shreveport city employees making amazing salaries, well above $100,000 dollars. Many make even more than that. But who are the highest paid at City Hall?

No Pay Raise Planned for 2024

Shreveport City Employees won’t be getting a pay raise this year. City leaders had to do some belt tightening to trim about $4 million dollars from next years’ budget. Police and firefighters will be getting modest increases.

But we can still see the lingering effects of a 13% pay raise that was given to all city workers at the beginning of 2022. Former Mayor Adrian Perkins told the City Council at the time it had been ten years since many city employees had a raise and it was long overdue.

Will the City Struggle to Continue the Pay Raise?

But even Perkins’ CAO Henry Whitehorn warned the Council this pay raise was not sustainable without a new funding source, the panel moved forward with the across-the-board raise.

KEEL News submitted a public records request for all of the current salaries of city employees. We find many employees make well over $100,000 dollars.

We did find in this data that Mayor Tom Arceneaux makes $94999.87. Some of the top leaders make far more than the Mayor. There was an effort a couple of years ago to bump up the pay for the Mayor and the City Council, but that effort failed.

You won't be surprised by the salaries of the top 2 people on the salary list this year, but you might find some surprises after that.
