
Shreveport Firefighters Join Texas Flood Rescue Efforts
Shreveport firefighters are now in Texas helping with the emergency flood response operations in Kerr County, Texas.

These elite firefighters, part of LA Task Force 3’s swift water rescue team, are trained for life-saving missions in dangerous flood conditions. Equipped with advanced gear and years of experience, they’ll be helping rescue those trapped by severe flooding. Their dedication, skill, and training make them an essential asset. We’re proud of their courage and commitment to serving—wherever they’re needed.
The Chief urges residents to keep them and all responders in your thoughts as they work to protect lives in these dangerous conditions.
The Shreveport team will join with members of LaTF-3’s Swift Water Rescue. They have arrived in Austin, Tx to help with the recovery efforts.
The Louisiana team is a joint effort made up of members from the fire departments in Shreveport, Baton Rouge, Zachary, West Feliciana, and East Side.
Search and rescue efforts continue in Kerr County, Texas, following devastating floods along the Guadalupe River. Texas has asked for help from neighboring states and the help has arrived.
The United Cajun Navy has also stepped in to help in the recovery efforts. They have sent in at least four airboats.
An urban search and rescue team from Louisiana is also now in the region. This group was dispatched by the State Fire Marshal. This team will have several boats and can handle swift water rescue.
More than 80 people have died as a result of this tragic flooding in Texas.
